In the event of a complaint, you should raise the concern in the first place with the person dealing with the particular matter.
If this does not resolve the problem you should contact the supervising partner, whose name will have been notified to you at the outset of the transaction.
The complaint does not have to be put in writing, although setting out clearly the issues and the action you wish us to take may help us to resolve your concerns more quickly.

If the complaint is still not resolved at the end of the complaints process you have the right to refer your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman at POBox 6806, Wolverhampton WV1 9WJ; telephone 0300 555 0333; website: www.legalombudsman.org.uk. Normally, you will need to bring a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman within six months of receiving a final written response from us about your complaint.
Our fees are based mainly on the time spent by the partners, solicitors and other staff involved in your matter. This includes: time spent on meetings; drafting of documents; reading and research; preparing and working on papers and correspondence; telephone calls and time travelling in connection with your matter. Our hourly rates are between £200-£300 plus VAT depending on who is acting. We currently charge £200 per hour plus VAT for probate/estate work.
We can offer a fixed price for wills depending on the type of will. Our basic will is charged at £175 plus VAT.
As we are mainly dealing with property matters we are generally able to give you a fixed price for that. For residential conveyancing our typical charges are between £850-£1250 plus VAT and disbursements. Commercial transactions are more difficult but typically we charge between £1250-£2,250 plus VAT and disbursements.
Disbursements include, search fee, land registry fees, stamp duty and other like items made by third parties. We do not charge any additional administration fees and will charge you what we are charged by those providers.
In all matters we will give you a written estimate prior to you instructing us.
We will require payment of disbursements and an element of our fees as money on account of costs at the outset of the transaction.
If the matter proves abortive, we will charge you for the work done on your matter.
